S-OIL (CEO Othman Al-Ghamdi) held the Ceremony for Offering Scholarships to Children of Fallen Maritime Police Officers on June 29 with the Korea Coast Guard and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare at the 8F conference room of Ministry of Public Safety and Security in Sejong Metropolitan City and delivered 50 mil. won to 25 children. S-OIL Senior Vice President Lee Chang-jai, Korea Coast Guard Commissioner General Hong ik-tae, Korea National Council on Social Welfare Director Mo Ok-hee and the bereaved families attended the ceremony.   


The refiner has sponsored Maritime Police Officers who sacrifice themselves to protect the citizen’s life and safety to show respect to them and help their bereaved families’ stable lives. The refiner has sponsored a scholarship to bereaved children who are in elementary, middle and high school to stably concentrate on their studying.


“It is truly meaningful for S-OIL to help children of proud Maritime Police Officers who sacrificed themselves for the nation and the people in adverse working conditions and died in the line of duty,” said S-OIL Senior Vice President Lee Chang-jai. “the refiner will provide systematic and various programs to support Maritime Police Officers who faithfully perform their duties despite dangerous work environment.”  


Besides, on June 21 the refiner invited 33 Maritime Police Officers and their spouses to ‘Healing Camp’ at Jeju for two nights and three days. In addition, the refiner also held other Hero Maritime Police Officers Support Programs including award for Hero Maritime Police Officers and allowanced for Officers who sustained work-related injuries with the aim of encouraging heroes who dedicate themselves to saving lives and property by risking their own in adverse working conditions.
