S-OIL supports heating oil to energy-poor households

● On Nov. 11, S-OIL donated 200 million won to the Korea National Council on Social Welfare to support heating oil for energy-poor households.
   - The refiner donated fuel coupons worth 1 million per household to 200 households with senior citizens who live alone and to grandparents raising grandchildren.

S-OIL will launch the ‘Hope to You’ Campaign to support the provision of heating oil to the energy-poor class, starting this year.

On Nov. 11, as part of the campaign, S-OIL CEO Nasser Al-Mahasher donated 200 million won to Cha Heung-bong, chairman of the Korea National Council on Social Welfare (KNCSW), in order to support heating oil for low-income households. This donation will be delivered to 200 households with senior citizens who live alone and also to grandparents raising grandchildren in the form of fuel coupons worth 1 million won per household. The refiner and the KNCSW received recommendations of beneficiaries from welfare institutes nationwide and created a shortlist.

“I was quite heart-broken to hear that there are neighbors out there going through the cold winter without heating oil due to financial difficulty,” said CEO Al-Mahasher who visited beneficiaries’ homes and delivered heating oil in person while wearing a gas station attendant uniform. “I’m pleased that I could deliver S-OIL’s heating oil to neighbors in real need and hope that our little help will be conveyed as a gesture of a warm hope to needy neighbors.”

Meanwhile, S-OIL has conducted the Service Station Sharing N Campaign for five years, under which its officers and employees visit and make donations to welfare institutes along with about 300 service station operators nationwide and carry out volunteer activities. Starting this year, it newly embarked on the Hope to You Campaign, which expands beneficiaries from welfare institutes to include households.
