S-OIL (CEO Nasser Al-Mahasher) donated 160,000 liters of jet fuel to the Air Force for fighter jets, worth 150 mil. won, on Sept. 26, ahead of the Armed Forces Day. S-OIL is the first company to donate jet fuel to the Air Force.

On that day, S-OIL CEO Nasser Al-Mahasher visited the Air Force headquarters at Gyeryongdae, a military base, in South Chungcheong Province and promised to donate 160,000 liters of jet fuel (JP-8) to Air Force Chief of Staff Sung Il-hwan. The donated jet fuel will be used for fighter aircraft, such as the T-50.

At the same time, the refiner also promised to donate 20 mil. won in scholarships to the Hanulsarang Scholarship Foundation for the children of fallen Air Force pilots.

The S-OIL CEO said at the ceremony, “We decided to donate jet fuel to ensure our military readiness and to back up the nation’s defense as a supplier of energy, an essential component that bolsters the nation’s defense capabilities. He continued to say, “Since our company’s stable business activity hinges on the nation’s solid military power, we’re glad to give in return for the nation’s protection.”
