On Feb. 4th, S-OIL (Representative Director : Hussain Al-Qahtani) delivered food and gift packages to needy neighbors on the occasion of Lunar New Year in free meal center for the homeless in Gwangya Church in western Seoul. S-OIL CEO, officers and employees shared rice cake soup with the elderly living alone in dosshouse, the disabled and homeless and delivered food and gift packages for them until last year. This year, the Company substituted it with donation ceremony this year due to COVID-19.

CEO Al-Qahtani who is spending his second Lunar New Year in Korea said difficult times like today call on us to reach out further to neighbors in need. “I hope rice cake soup sharing that S-OIL has been doing for more than 10 years makes the Lunar New Year warmer for our neighbors” said CEO Al-Qahtani.

S-OIL started ‘Rice Cake Soup of Sharing’ on Lunar New Year from 2007 until last year with its officers and employees volunteering to help needy neighbors in dosshouses and the homeless. On top of this, S-OIL also supports heating oil and briquette coal to the energy poor in winter including low-income households, multi-cultural households and the disabled in need.
