● S-OIL donates heating oil coupons to 3,000 households in Ulsan hit by Typhoon Chaba
- CEO Othman Al-Ghamdi says, “As a member of the community, we will spare no effort in helping victims to regain their livelihoods.”
S-OIL (CEO Othman Al-Ghamdi) announced on Oct. 13 that it donated 1.5 bil. won worth of heating oil coupons to the Ulsan Community Chest (Chairman Chang Gwang-su) in order to help with victims of Typhoon Chaba.
The donation made by S-OIL will go to 3,000 flood-damaged houses and shops in the Ulsan area, including Ulju-gun and Buk-gu, which have been badly affected, thus being declared as Special Disaster Areas. They will be immediately given heating oil coupons worth 500,000 won each.
S-OIL CEO Othman Al-Ghamdi said, “As a member of the Ulsan community, which houses our refinery, S-OIL will spare no effort in helping flood victims overcome hardships and regain their livelihoods as soon as possible.”
The decision on the donation of heating oil coupons was made by CEO Al-Ghamdi. When visiting S-OIL’s Onsan refinery last weekend, the CEO witnessed typhoon-ravaged areas near to the refinery and the severity of damage with his own eyes, and gave an instruction to come up with ways to lend a hand to victims. An S-OIL official said, “As flood victims who lost their homes are expected to suffer more difficulty while the weather is getting cold, we’ve decided to put prompt and substantial support measures into place to prepare them for the cold winter.”
