S-OIL offers “Jeju Healing Camp” for firefighters and their spouses

● S-OIL invites 70 firefighters and their spouses for three days to the Jeju Healing Camp, starting on May 20.     - The refiner offers the opportunity for firefighters to relieve their stress at work and to consolidate their affection towards their spouses.

S-OIL (CEO: Nasser Al-Mahasher) invited 70 firefighters and their spouses (140 people in total) to the “S-OIL Healing Camp” on Jeju Island for two nights and three days from May 20 through to 22.

This event began as part of the Hero Firefighter Support Program, a program to boost firefighter morale and to support their financial situation. It aims to consolidate firefighters’ affection towards their spouses since they lack quality time together with their families due to shift work and frequent fire-fighting operations. It will also help relieve their stress at work.

Firefighters and their spouses who participated in this camp visited tourist attractions in Jeju such as the Sunrise Peak of Mt. Seongsan, Jeongbang Waterfall, Yongdu Rock, and Eco Land, and they also attended a lecture on “Communication with Spouses and Children,” thereby having a good rest.

In particular, marking the Couple’s Day (May 21), which signifies two people tying the knot, the refiner offered a proposal event to Fire Lieutenant Park Yong-soon (46, North Daejeon Fire Station) and his wife in front of the Tree of Love in Bizarim Forest, which pulled the heartstrings of all participants. (See the attached material.)

S-OIL has been running the Hero Firefighters Support Program for eight years since 2006 in order to back up firefighters who sacrifice themselves in silence for society and to provide financial support to their families in collaboration with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare. Through this program, the refiner conducts systematic support activities, providing condolence money and scholarships to the bereaved families and children of firefighters who died in the line of duty and also gives support money to injured firefighters.
