● S-OIL made a 1 billion won donation for energy-poor households grappling with high heating costs in winter.

    - CEO Hussain Al-Qahtani said, “S-OIL will not let up on its efforts to practice its corporate social responsibility.”

On Jan. 8, S-OIL (CEO Hussain Al-Qahtani) delivered a donation of 1 billion won to the Korea National Council on Social Welfare (KNCSW) (Chairman Kim Seong-yee) to help energy-poor households with winter heating bills that recently surged. The donation will be used to distribute heating oil to welfare facilities and energy-poor households, including grandparent-headed families, elderly people living alone, disabled people, and multicultural families.

“I hope that our donation will help financially-struggling neighbors to cope with a spike in heating costs and warmly get through this unusually cold winter.,” said CEO Al-Qahtani. “S-OIL will keep paying attention to neighbors in need in communities and will not let up on its efforts to practice sharing as a company fulfilling corporate social responsibility.”

An official at the company said, “Heating oil has almost given way to city gas these days, but some welfare facilities and rural areas still use kerseoen for heating. To lift the burden of heating costs for vulnerable households and prosper together with communities, we’ve decided to provide heating cost support.”

Meanwhile, under the Hope to You Campaign, S-OIL has continuously offered heating oil to energy-poor households that refrain from using boilers even in winter due to financial difficulty.
